What does P4C mean?

P4C simply stands for Philosophy for Children.

P4C is a system based on the work of the US Philosophy Professor Matthew Lipman and is based on stimulus and response.  The children (philosophers) are given a stimuli, such as a picture, story or video clip, which they then use to form questions in response to.

The p4C method has been developed over the past 35 years in is recognised on approximately 60 countries globally.

What is philosophy?

A big question on its own!!!

Philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence, especially when considered as an academic discipline.

A philosophy is a way of thinking about the world, the universe, and about society. A philosophy is a group of ideas, worked out by a philosopher (someone who has studied ways of thinking about the world). The ideas in philosophy are abstract, which means that they are "things that cannot be touched". But this does not mean that philosophy is not about the real world.
